Welcome to On-Walkabout.  If you found your way here through a search engine or a referrer, either way I really appreciate you taking the time to read this about page to learn a little bit more about the site.

I am an American living in the Australian state of Victoria and I first started this webpage in order to educate myself more about Australia.  I have found typing out stories about where I have gone and what I have done has really helped me to learn a lot more about the places I have visited.   I have also found that by putting these stories and pictures on the Internet more people are learning from my experiences and some have even been inspired to visit places that I have been.

To see where I have been I first recommend checking out my pictures tab which is filled with many high quality images of places all over Australia and even New Zealand.  Another option to explore the site is to go through my archives or sitemap to find the postings that are of interest to you.  Besides pictures and travel advice this site is also filled with historical and cultural facts about Australia as well as a bit of off beat Australian news.

I have no intentions of making this site political; my intentions are to keep this site informative and fun.  I hope everyone visiting appreciates the work I have put into the site and please leave a comment on posts you are interested in to add further information or suggestions for other readers.
