You can tell Al Gore must be on his way to Melbourne considering this news:
MELBURNIANS have shivered through the coldest morning of the year, with the mercury plunging below zero degrees celsius in suburbs across the city.
In Melbourne’s west, temperatures dipped to a 12-year record low in Laverton with -2.1 degrees, while in Moorabbin residents woke up to a chilly -0.8.
Scoresby and Viewbank households also reached for extra blankets, as temperatures registered -0.6 and -0.5 degrees respectively.
Bureau of Meteorology senior forecaster Richard Carlyon said the CBD was the only area unaffected by the icy weather, which recorded 3.4 degrees overnight.
“Across the metropolitan region it was the coldest morning of the year,” he told AAP.
But he said open areas of central Melbourne – including Federation Square which broadcast the Michael Jackson memorial service live from Los Angeles at 3am (AEST) – would have felt much colder. [AAP]
Yet I’m sure the global warming faithful will be out in force to welcome their evironmental capitalist environmental evangelist, Al Gore.
Poor Al Gore can't take a trick. Ever since his science fiction movie, temperatures have dropped, IPCC models have failed to match real data, sea level stopped rising, Antarctic ice increased, glaciers advanced, the “global warming signature” couldn't be found. Then as he visits Melbourne, Laverton turns on the coldest day for 12 years.
There's been many recent cases when global warming activities have had to be cancelled due to extreme cold conditions.
Still the politicians push blindly onwards.
