Australia Issues First Citizenship Test

Considering all the controversy over the Australian citizenship test it appears it wasn’t all that bad:

ALL but one of the first 26 migrants to face the controversial new citizenship test passed yesterday, with several scoring 100 per cent.

Hopefuls were quizzed on the colours of the Aboriginal flag, the location of the 1956 Olympics and the identity of "the Father of Federation".

From this week aspiring Australian citizens must first pass the 20-question multiple-choice test.

The first migrants out of the Melbourne exam room scored mostly 19 or 20 out of 20 — well over the pass mark of 12.

Most said the 40-minute test was much easier than expected after weeks studying detailed facts and figures from the 48-page resource book, from which the questions are drawn.  [Herald-Sun]

The one person that failed will be able to take the test again which I’m sure she will pass with a little bit more study.  So I still don’t see what the big deal is about this test.
